As I said before this is a movie which presents itself as a documentary dedicated to the life and work of a Japanese chef, Jiro. As you all know, I'm a big fan of Japanese food. Guess, it's due to my recent change in direction as regards to food (remember Eat Your Veggies?). And while watching this movie I felt the very essence of this food, culture and all that it implies.
Next thing I withdrew here is Discipline (that's right with a capital "D"). You see, Jiro is the kind of person who is what you'll call a workaholic. The kind of person who works 75 years on the same job and never had a day off, but for a funeral or some other "real" reason. Just looking at Jiro working and looking at the way he approaches the ethics connected to his work is absolutely mind blowing. I for one has never seen anything of this nature before. A real perfectionist and a chef of a caliber never matched before in sushi. One of the best things I've watched these days. Hope you guys feel the same...
