Jean Michel Basquiat

Hello everyone. Today gonna share an aspect of my life yet to be known by all others. It's none other than my love for art. Not saying that I'm a great art critic, but my passion for paintings and all that is connected with it is definite and really growing. So let's begin with the one and only "Jean Michel Basquiat".

So here is our modern time "Art Rebel"!!! And I emphasis on the word modern (though he died in 1988 at the age of 27 like a lot of greats like Jimmy Hendrix, Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and much more) only because he is really an artists which stands out of the crowd. Not only due to his simple and really "from another planet" life, but also of course due to his incredible work. Basquiat (really sounding name by the way) is one of or I should say the only artist I know who is so unique in his approach to art. Really a unique kind of fellow. I mean just have a look at this paintings!!!

Crazy right? Yeah that's what I think as well. It's really something deep and you can feel it most definitely. Of course this kind of stuff is definitely enhanced by drugs and other form of doping you know out there, but unfortunately Basquiat indulged into the most awful aspect of this enhancement that is drugs. And he really went hardcore with it, too. He was addicted to heroine and as a result of this addiction he died. Most people know him for his collaboration with another great artist with a big "A" called Andy Warhol. By the way Wharol is one of those artists whose art, I don't really like that much but still all good.

Despite the fact that Basquiat lived till the age of 27 only, his life was very eventful and I would advice you guys to watch the following movies to get well acquainted with him.

The first movie "Basquiat" was directed by one of my favorite directors out there Julian Schnabel (about him a bit later) and will be a great beginning to get acquainted with Basquiat's art and of course life as well. The second movie radiant child is more of a collection of cuts with some rare and exclusive shots from Basquiat's life. Also a great viewing which I advice to all.
