Earthlings

Hi everyone, going to talk about animals now folks and the issue hereby is should they be killed and eaten or we should all listen carefully to what some animal rights activists say, that animals are our brothers and sisters and all this idea of eating them should be abolished. Well the thing is that the movie "Earthlings" gives some interesting answers to this question.

So, if you ask me (a long - term meat eater) aperson who has just got acquainted with the ideology behind "Veganism". Not exaggerating, but beign vegan is not at all radical as it may seem. I'd rather say that it's "different".  But the thing about this movie is not connected to veganism, but rather the whole idea of understanding we like all other "Animals" (yes guys, newsflash human beings are animals. Sorry, but that's just the way it goes:-) ). So, the whole point here is that all "Earthlings" are equal and there should be at least somesort of respect regarding animals as living organisms which also have a soul, feel pain, have relationships, opinions and what have you. And if you place yourself into that perspective, a new world opens up to you.

If all I've been saying so far makes no sense, you can have a look at the trailer below. Just becareful, because there are some images which are not for sensitive people, especially if you are the kind of person who is afraid of blood and all that kind of stuff.

Better? Well as usual the trailer doesn't show you all the depth of this movie. A movie which made me understand at least the guys out there who are really against fur coats and so on and the need to live by necessity, just let's admit that a fur coat sounds pointless when you live in the 21st century. A century in which in my opinion it's completely pointless to kill an animal (oh, sorry an "Earthling") in a very cruel way by the way in order to create a product which is completely overrated. On the overall would really recommend ths movie to those out there who want to find something new to contemplate on. Something which will make you think twice the next time you going to have some piece of steak, that's for sure...

  1. If you watch this movie there is no way back to your former self. when i watched it a few years ago, i wept all the way through and felt horrible for months after. it is a bitter pill and not even gilded. There is something to keep in mind - the examples shown in the movie are true, but not for all farms, labs etc. But the point is that the lucky exceptions should become the absolute minimum standard, which demands that we review completely how we treat other living beings (including humans), and such rethinking will only be possible when people are better informed.
