My
first contact with Andy (whom I now consider a real genius!!!) was
when I watched the video shown below. And to say the truth from the
very beginning of this performance, I was about to switch it off, but
thanks God, I didn't. Just have a look isn't this amazing?
It's
really cool, huh? I mean it's a really rare thing to see someone who
is that much in character. If you know anyone who does an
impersonation job of that caliber, please do give me feedback on this
person. Then I went into a detailed research, on who really is Andy,
but as usual, I wouldn't bore you with the complete biography of Andy
Kaufman. I guess you can all see it on the following link:
As
you probably saw in the biography of Andy, there was even a film
adaptation of his life called “ Man on the moon” starring Jim
Carrey (another great performer about whom we gonna talk later). If
you are interested in this movie just go to this link:
So back to Andy, as I said he is really a
unique talent. The kind of talent you don't easily get this days
(well at least not on the mainstream media). I think it really takes
a high profile performer to pull out a stunt such as this one:
Unfortunately,
just like most talents Andy Kaufman is one of those about whom we can
easily say, “The good die young”. Just aged 35 Andy died after a
long battle with lung cancer. Despite being deeply ill, Andy still
had the strength and will power to pull out a descent performance and
never let his fans and audience down. All this can be easily seen in
the Letterman show interview he had in his last days. Take a look:
Real
shame that all these are things from the past, hoping to see such performances in the future an waiting feedback from you.
